Funding and Grants

What kinds of organisations do you fund? Can I apply for a grant?

The Avon Foundation is focused on efforts to eradicate breast cancer and violence against women and girls in more than 50 Avon markets worldwide.

In 2017 Avon separated from the North America business, which is now a privately-held company (New Avon LLC) and therefore, the Avon Foundation is no longer funding partnerships/projects in the US, Puerto Rico or Canada.

Please note that requests for funding are by invitation only, unfortunately unsolicited requests for funding or products cannot be accepted.

The Avon Foundation provides grants to non-profit organisations in the areas outlined in our mission statement: breast cancer and violence against women and girls. The Avon Foundation for Women lists every grant it issues .

 

What kinds of organisations do you not fund?

The Avon Foundation does not provide grants to the following:

  • Individuals or programmes that benefit specific individuals
  • Religious organisations
  • Political organisations, campaigns, or candidates
  • Personal fundraising or fees for special events (runs, walk-a-thons, etc.)
  • Individual medical researchers or practitioners except through a larger Avon Foundation funding program through an institution
  • Direct costs of patient care or treatment

 

If I’m invited by the Avon Foundation to submit a proposal, how do I apply for funding?

The Avon Foundation will provide you with all the information you need on how to submit your proposal.

 

My non-profit agency is based in the U.S., but we work globally to end violence against women and girls and/or to reduce breast cancer. Can we apply for a grant?

Only non-profits that are invited to apply will have the opportunity to be considered for a grant. We do not accept unsolicited requests for support.

 

My NGO has lost a majority of its funding, and we need immediate help. Can we apply for a grant?

Only NGOs which are invited to apply may have the opportunity to be considered for a grant. We do not accept unsolicited requests for support.
 

How does an NGO get invited to apply for a grant?

The Avon Foundation will contact the NGO to be considered for a grant. We do not accept unsolicited requests for support.

 

I am a victim of domestic abuse. Can I apply for a grant or scholarship?

Although we would like to help you, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Avon Foundation is not able to provide financial assistance to any individual for any reason. This is due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines.

The Avon Foundation for Women is also not a direct service agency and cannot provide individual advice or resources. We encourage you to find local resources for support.

  • If you are contacting us from the United States or Puerto Rico, please visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline or call 1-800-799-SAFE for immediate, confidential, individual local support and resources.

I am an individual / I know an individual suffering from breast cancer and/or a victim of abuse. Can I apply for a grant or scholarship?

Unfortunately, no. The Avon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is legally unable to provide financial assistance to individuals for any reason. This is due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines. We encourage you to find local resources for support.

Events and Sponsorships

Can you sponsor my event, meeting, or corporate function?

Sponsorships fall outside of the scope of the Avon Foundation. We have limited funds and receive many requests of this nature. Because the Avon Foundation’s mission is focused on the issues of breast cancer and violence against women and girls, the large number of requests we receive from many worthwhile organisations exceeds our budget, and we cannot accommodate all of them.

 

Can you donate a gift basket or Avon products for my fundraising event?

The Avon Foundation does not have access to products to donate. You may consider reaching out to your local market for support and products.

 

General 

Why does the Avon Foundation for Women focus support on women, since men can also be victims of violence and get breast cancer?

The Avon Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of women globally in our core cause areas of Breast Cancer and Violence Against Women and Girls.  While we recognise that anyone of any age, race, or economic level can be affected by violence and cancer, statistics show that most people who experience domestic violence, and most people diagnosed with breast cancer, are women.
