Breast Cancer Promise

Ensuring everyone knows the signs, knows the risks and knows how to take action

We’ve been at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer for 30 years, since 1992 when the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade launched in the UK.  Over the last three decades, with the Avon Foundation for Women, we’ve donated more than US$939 million to breast cancer causes; educating 180 million people about the disease, and funding breast health screening for over 16.4 million women*.  This has only been possible with the support of our community.

Why we focus on breast health education

Awareness of breast cancer is high, but many do not take the necessary action. This is because of lack of knowledge and confidence in what action to take, and perceived lack of time and urgency. We want to breakdown these barriers with breast health education.

#KnowYourNormal

Wibbly, wobbly jelly? Big, beautiful balloons? Powerful, pert missiles? Which three words best describe your boobs (or pecs)? We are asking women (and men) from all over the world to share their three words in our #NormalForMe campaign.

Share your three words and the hashtag #NormalForMe on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to help raise awareness and remind people how important regular self-checks are. By knowing what your breasts (or pecs) feel like normally – it is much easier to notice a change and have it checked out by your doctor.

Know the Signs! Know the Risks! Know how to take action!

* Historic figures for women screened have been reviewed and amended based on incorrect screening figures in 2017 and 2018.
