Breast Cancer Promise
Ensuring every woman knows the risks, knows the signs and knows how and when to take action
We have been at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer since 1992, when the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade launched in the U.K. Over the last 25 years, Avon and the Avon Foundation for Women have donated more than $800 million USD to breast cancer causes, and educated 180 million women about the disease, and funded breast health screening for nearly 20 million women. This has only been possible with the support of donors, our Representatives, associates and customers worldwide.
With the support of the Avon Foundation, we have renewed our global commitment to the cause with the launch of the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, a multi-year pledge educating women about breast health.
Why we are focusing on breast health education
In 2017, we conducted a global survey of 19,000 Avon Representatives in 15 countries on their knowledge of breast cancer risks and signs.
The findings showed a knowledge gap amongst women globally about symptoms of breast cancer and how to lower the risk of developing the disease.
Breast health aware
Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women around the globe. Worldwide, approximately two million women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
Early detection of breast cancer saves lives. We believe that no woman should die because she was left in the dark about breast cancer. Too many women still aren’t aware of their risks, and don’t know what signs to look for, or what to do and where to go if they have concerns.

Take a #BreastBreak
In 2019 we marked our 27th year of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by opening up even more opportunities for women all around the world to ‘take a #BreastBreak’ and help support early detection of breast cancer around the world.
