Breast Cancer Awareness Month Oct 1, 2025
Feel yourself this Breast Cancer Awareness Month and every month
We check countless things every day. Our keys. Our lipstick. Our phones – around 58 times a day, in fact¹. But how often are we checking our chest?
We’re encouraging everyone to prioritise regular self-checks - because they could quite simply save lives.
We’ve been supporting breast cancer awareness for over 30 years, and we remain committed to helping build confidence around breast health. We want everyone to know what their normal is and how to spot the signs of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. In 2022, 2.3 million women were diagnosed globally, and 670,000 lives were lost². Regular breast checks play a crucial role in early detection, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates.
Feel yourself: check this before you check your phone
We’re continuing to act on insights from our 2024 Boob Census – a global overview of how women feel about their breast health. The findings showed that many women either never check their chest or don’t do so regularly. One of the most common reasons? They simply forget.
In fact, 39% of women surveyed said they don’t check their chest at least monthly because it slips their mind.
We know life is busy and full of things to check. So we’re encouraging everyone to make chest checks part of their regular routine. Before we check our lipstick or our phones, let’s remember to check something even more important: our chest. Whether that’s at home or during a routine appointment.
Jemah Brightman-White, Brand Acitvism MAnager & Breast Health Advocate says: "While there are important things we need to check in our lives, our health needs to be at the top of that list. Let’s continue to have open conversations around breast health, and ensure regular chest checks, either at home, or with a healthcare professional, are a part of our regular routine.
It fills me with so much joy and pride that we continue to stand together as an Avon community, showing up as a company that supports women everyday by raising awareness and actively driving change through fundraising, honest conversations and initiatives with our trusted NGO partners.”
