Avon Philippines Launches Pink Minute Campaign
Avon Philippines is supporting the Avon Breast Cancer Promise and #PinkLightProject objective of educating 100 million globally on the risks and signs of breast cancer with their Pink Minute Campaign. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, iconic landmarks and buildings across Metro Manila are becoming beacons of the Pink Light, to remind women to take just one minute to check their breasts, once a month.
The Pink Light is already shining from the SM Mall of Asia Globe, and will soon be spreading across Manila landmarks, including City Hall, Quezon Memorial Circle, and St. Francis Square Towers.
On the 20th October, the final pink beacon will be lit at the iconic Quezon Memorial Shrine. Avon Representatives and executives, breast cancer survivor groups and the press will gather for an inspirational event at the Liwasang Aurora Arena. Each audience member will get a pink light, and will be encouraged to make a pledge, before ‘passing the light’ on to the people around them.
The Pink Minute Pledge: “I promise to know the risks, see the signs, and take a pink minute to fight breast cancer. I will pass on the light about early detection.”
The pink light will spread from person to person until the whole crowd is lit up. This will lead to the symbolic lighting of the Quezon Memorial Shrine, to remind everyone to take a Pink Minute.
Early detection of breast cancer is key to survival, and Avon Philippines are proud to spearhead this nationwide commitment to start the monthly, life-saving Pink Minute Habit.
