Avon Foundation for Women
Championing women’s causes for over six decades
The Avon Foundation for Women, founded in 1955, tackles the causes that matter most to women, taking a female-centric approach to break down traditional barriers and build a better future for women. Its ethos is based on the belief that the greater the support, the more empowered women feel to take control of their own safety and health.
Over the last six decades Avon and the Avon Foundation have contributed over $1 billion USD to the causes that matter most to women. Working in partnership with affiliate Avon Foundations and Avon countries around the world, the Avon Foundation for Women is a driving force behind charitable, scientific, educational and humanitarian work that improve the lives of women and their families.
From raising awareness, to delivering lifesaving resources, we are deeply proud of the Avon Foundation for Women and its pioneering work on women’s causes.

Pioneering work for women's causes
The Avon Foundation for Women leads initiatives on breast health awareness and prevention through the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, and endevours to help end gender-based violence through the Avon Promise to End Violence Against Women and Girls. It uses two key strategies:
Assembling partners and thought leaders to collaborate and share best practices.
Educating the public and key audiences to change behaviour and improve the lives of women around the world.
The Avon Foundation for Women aims to accelerate progress, accountability and discovery, and reduce the social stigma that sometimes keeps these issues hidden.
Through the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, the Avon Foundation for Women educates women about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and ensures they know where to go for help. Through the Avon Promise to Help End Violence Against Women and Girls, the Avon Foundation for Women works towards a world where women and girls are free from the fear of violence or abuse. Through the Global Scholarship Programme, the Avon Foundation for Women awards academic scholarships to Beauty Entrepreneurs and their families, as part of an ongoing commitment to lifelong learning. Supporting women through the Coronavirus pandemic
Domestic violence is set to increase through the pandemic. Avoiding public spaces and working remotely can help to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However it can put victims and survivors of domestic violence in potentially dangerous situations, trapped in homes with abusers, isolated from the people and the resources that could help them.
Avon and the Avon Foundation for Women is sharing information and guidance to explain the risks and where to go for help.
