“Becoming an Avon lady has given me a sense of pride, that every penny I spend on my children, I’ve earnt”

Annie Lisa

Avon Beauty Adviser, UK

I became an Avon rep when my eldest daughters were a baby and a toddler. They’re 21 and 19 years old now. I’d just had my third daughter and I signed up to be an Avon rep again.

When my eldest daughters who are grown up were younger, I couldn’t take them to dancing lessons, I couldn’t buy them sweets at the shop, and I couldn’t do those things with them. So, now I feel like I can give my daughter the treats that they needed and deserved.

My little girl Max will sometimes come and knock-on doors. She loves delivering the brochures through the doors and she’s a little live wire, just like mummy. The older girls who are 19 and 21 they love the beauty products as well and the hair care.

Becoming an Avon lady has given me a sense of pride, that every penny I spend on my children, I’ve earnt. I’m able to go on little holidays that I might not have been able to before and with it being a flexible working opportunity, when I need to take time off, I can take that timeout to regroup, to recharge and I actually volunteer at my local hospice shop. And I do often have Avon customers come into the shop and say hello! For the first time in my life actually I do feel like a central part of the community.

I’ve made lots of friends and I’ll never stop doing it because I want to stay in contact with every single one of them.
