Avon Argentina honoured for raising awareness about non-physical forms of violence
The Buenos Aires City Council has declared Avon’s #EmbraceTheChange gender-based violence awareness campaign Of Social Interest in its latest round of recognition for initiatives driving social change in the city.
#EmbraceTheChange is a global awareness campaign, launched in line with the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence in November, as part of Avon’s Promise to Help End Violence Against Women and Girls . It draws attention to the unspoken violence devastating women’s lives around the world, shining a light on the different forms of non-physical abuse experienced by women around the world, including cyber-bullying, coercive control, emotional abuse and street harassment.
“Every struggle for the eradication of violence against women is praiseworthy, but we must highlight this campaign in particular for its effectiveness in doing so; for how it has managed to capture the attention of society through networks to make us see those everyday situations, naturalised, as what they are: situations of violence against women.”

“We are very proud of the reach and engagement of this campaign, but more than this of what #EmbraceTheChange means for us – our Associates, Representatives and community.”

Buenos Aires City Council Deputy Natalia Fidel delivered the declaration of interest at Avon Argentina Offices, and held a roundtable discussion with members of the Avon Argentina and Avon Argentina Foundation Team about the importance of #EmbracetheChange to society.
