Avon Italy launch #ASelfieForWomen to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Italy

Avon is committed to making sure women worldwide are educated about breast cancer – making sure they know the risks, signs and how to take action – because we believe no woman should be left in the dark about breast cancer.  Avon’s Breast Cancer Promise aims to educate 100 million women worldwide and this October, Avon has launched the Pink Light Project to help do just that.  The Pink Light Project aims to enable Avon’s six million-strong network of women to spread the world about breast cancer.

Avon Italy is supporting the Pink Light Project and Avon’s commitment to educating women by running its #ASelfieForWomen social media campaign. This digital campaign aims to raise awarenss, encourage solidarity in fighting breast cancer and  raise money to help create a future where women will no longer be victims of this devastating disease.

From 12th to 25th of October, women across Italy will be sharing a selfie on social media. They’ll use the hashtag #ASelfieForWomen or #UnSelfiePerLeDonne and make donations to the cause, through the dedicated website www.unselfieperledonne.it, where they can also post messages of support.

The project, aiming to broaden access to quality care for breast cancer patients, is being run in partnership with IEO CCM Foundation. Avon will activate a WhatsApp link to help spread the message to even more people, and some local celebrities will also help the message go viral.

All the photos traced through the hashtag will be visible on the site at www.unselfieperledonne.it, and Avon Italy will share some favourite photos on their Facebook page.

The five Avon Italy Representatives who refer the most people to donate will be recognised as Avon Solidarity Ambassadors to celebrate their achievement.
