Avon and Catalyst: Champions for Change

Global non-profit organisation, Catalyst, today released a report showing that its member companies collectively have a higher representation of women in leadership positions at every level than their global peers. Avon is a founding partner of Catalyst’s CEO Champions for Change initiative that brings together more than 50 global CEOs and senior leaders to support the acceleration of diversity, inclusion and gender equality in its organisations.

The founding companies of Catalyst Champions For Change represent more than 9 million employees and more than $1.5 trillion dollars in revenue globally. They have all committed to be transparent and share metrics on their progress, and the Inclusion in Action report – the second of its kind – shows that while there’s much more work to do, change is possible. Avon and its fellow partners as part of this initiative are committed to driving change in the advancement of women.

As one of the initiative’s 50 CEOs championing this important agenda, Jan Zijderveld, CEO of Avon Products Inc said: “We want to build a world where everyone can succeed. That’s what I call purpose. We need participation from everyone to be able to unlock the potential and overcome challenges in the world.”

Lorraine Hariton, President and CEO, Catalyst said: “Catalyst CEO Champions passionately believe that what’s good for women is good for everyone. They’ve seen the positive results of increased diversity and inclusive cultures firsthand. We are proud and honored to work with the Catalyst CEO Champions to both create gender equality in the workplace and inspire other organizations to do the same.”
