Avon Kazakhstan dances its way to breast cancer awareness

Avon Kazakhstan dances its way to breast cancer awareness

Avon is committed to raising awareness about the risks and signs of breast cancer, and to helping every woman know how to take action. As part of the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, Avon Associates and Representatives around the world are supporting the Pink Light Project, throughout October, because we believe that no woman should die because she was left in the dark about breast cancer.

In Kazakhstan, Avon customers, Representatives and Associates danced their way into the record books, with the largest Salsa flash mob the country has ever seen.  This Salsa in Pink event had the hashtag #dancewithyourheart or #танцуйсердцем because sometimes we can’t express our feelings with words, but we can express them through dance.

The main goal was to educate women across Kazakhstan about the signs and risks of breast cancer and let them know how they can manage those risks. Alongside the dancing, there was a special consultancy zone, where about 250 women were examined by highly qualified mammologists, as the Director of the Kazakhstan Fund Together Against Cancer talked to the 4000 visitors.

As well as the serious message there were plenty of ways for guests to have fun, including make-up master classes, golf lessons, fun activities for children, and of course, a lot of dancing. The event gained a lot of media coverage, and Avon Kazakhstan are delighted to have highlighted the signs and risks of breast cancer to so many women.

There are many other activities taking place around the world to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to achieve Avon’s commitment of educating 100 million women worldwide about breast cancer.
