Avon launch the Avon Foundation Violence Against Women and Girls Stakeholder Advisory Board

Today, Avon is launching the Avon Foundation Violence Against Women and Girls Stakeholder Advisory Board, to build on the work Avon already do to transform the lives of women and girls around the world. It’s part of the Avon Promise to Help End Violence Against Women and Girls, a commitment to help save lives through awareness and education about gender-based violence. 

One in three women worldwide will be a victim of violence in her lifetime, and anyone can be affected, no matter her income, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion. Avon is committed to help end violence and abuse within relationships, whether it’s physical, emotional or financial.

Change can only happen when these issues are addressed at every level of society. Avon is working with global leaders, local partners and the network of independent Representatives around the world to build a world free of violence against women.

Avon’s latest step towards this goal is the inaugural global Avon Foundation Stakeholder Advisory Board. Their first meeting has clear objectives, including defining the joint aspirations to end Violence Against Women and Girls, gathering expert guidance, and developing opportunities to drive the programmes.

The Advisory Board is led by Cindy Dyer, the Vice President of Human Rights an Vital Voices Global Partnership, and Anush Aghabalyan, Head of Advocacy and External Relations at World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It also includes members from Argentina, Brazil, Philippines, Romania, Russia, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States.

Avon believes that by joining forces with these, and other inspiring women, we can build on the great work we already do, and bring about significant change for women and girls worldwide.
