Our sustainability journey

We’re making progress towards our environmental and social impact goals.  Our sustainability vision is to  create a better world for women, which is better world for all, and to have a positive impact on our climate and communities.

HUMAN-KIND HIGHLIGHTS

52% of our senior team are women and we’re working to close the pay gap.

In 2021 we donated $7.9m to NGOs, adding to the $1.1billion raised and donated to good causes by Avon and the Avon Foundation. 

In 2021 our breast cancer donations helped at least 406,000 women, adding to the 16million screenings and $947m donated to date.

In 2021 our donations to NGOs tackling gender-based violence helped at least 271,000 women. We’ve now helped nearly 15m people, through donations of $88m. 

To celebrate our 135 year anniversary we announced $1.35m fund, and are donating to NGOs helping women to create better futures.

PLANET-KIND HIGHLIGHTS

At the start of 2022, 80% of our packaging globally was recyclable, reusable or compostable, and increase of 11% on the previous year.

In 2021 we reengineered our Avon Senses bottle with reduced plastic content, resulting in an annual reduction of 195 tonnes plastic.

87% of all the ingredients we use in our products globally are of natural origin.

90% of all the ingredients we use in our rinse-off products globally are biodegradable. 

We’ve reduced our scope 1 and 2 emissions, surpassing our own targets

Our 2020 carbon baseline is complete for scopes 1, 2 and 3

We decreased water intensity in our operations by 12% in 2021 vs 2020, saving 43,000+ metric tones

In 2021 we decreased 42% waste to landfill in our operations by 42%, reducing waste by 11% overall.
