Supporting communities in times of disaster

At the very heart of Avon is our purpose to create a better world by positively impacting the lives of billions of women around the world. In times of natural disaster, this encompasses our wider community – of beauty entrepreneurs, their customers, their families and friends – and of course the communities in which they live.

The bushfire crisis continues to ravage Australia, the homeland of our fellow Natura &Co company, Aesop, which is providing support to help the affected communities. Avon has also pledged support with a $25,000 donation to the Australian Red Cross .

Avon’s thoughts are also with those affected by the earthquake that struck Eastern Turkey on 24 January, killing 41 people and leaving hundreds of people sheltering in sports centres despite the wintry conditions. Avon Turkey donated over 5,000 products, including scarves, gloves, and toiletries, to the Red Crescent, which is providing disaster relief support to those affected.

In the Philippines, after the eruption of Taal on 13 January, Avon Philippines donated hygiene packs, including underwear, deodorant and toiletries, to 3,000 people affected by the disaster. Further, in response to Typhoon Ursula in December, Avon is donating 1,470 hygiene packs in their Navel and Tacloban branches to affected Avon Representatives and their families. This includes underwear, shampoo, soap and deodorant.
